Request for proposals:
Heritage Program funds projects to promote NOAA history and heritage

The NOAA Heritage Program (formerly Preserve America Initiative) is now accepting funding proposals for projects within NOAA that will help preserve, protect and promote the agency's heritage. This opportunity is only open to NOAA offices. However, NOAA employees who apply may partner with other federal, state, tribal, Native Hawaiian, academic and non-profit organizations on the proposals.

Since 2005, this popular internal program has funded small projects from around the country and in every NOAA line office. Past projects have varied in scope. They include oral histories, exhibits, displays, signage, small-scale heritage asset preservation, and events that highlight NOAA’s rich history and culture.

For FY20, the NOAA Heritage Program will award a total of $100,000 to NOAA employees for these projects. Each proposal is limited to a request of $12,000 or less.
